The hotel is in a marvelous location, close to ports, shops, and restaurants. It's just a short cab ride to the cruise port and international airport. The area has plenty of great bars, restaurants, and shops. The staff, including the general manager, is courteous. The room is clean and functional.

The location.
This hotel is terrible. Sealed window, AC is either high, loud and freezing or off and it is then stuffy in the airless room. Bed and bedding were uncomfortable. Things didn't work without special help: TV, safe. No hot water in sink in bathroom. Don't stay there, don't recommend the place.

I liked this hotel mostly because of it's location to be in the heart of Old San Juan and in walking distance of the forts and musumes.

The room was spacious and gorgeous with a balcony, and the internet/wifi worked great. The staff was very pleasant, just as I expected. The location was great, just a 5-minute walk from Casa Blanca Museum.

Fairly clean hotel with polite employees from the general manager on down. Fairly quiet and perfect room, exceptionally comfortable bed and quiet in the evenings. Location - brilliant, just off several restaurants, the main central plaza in town, and Barrachina which is the famous restaurant that invented the Pina Colada in 1963. An unusual and absolutely fantastic property, my first choice in San Juan.

The room was quiet and perfect with a window and balcony. The hotel's location was great, a short walk to several restaurants like Raices Rest, Il Baccaro Rest, Cafe Puerto Rico Rest, and all OOF Rests. It was also next or near to everything.

I'd read some highly negative reviews a year old about poor cleanliness and non-working elevators. I found our room clean, bed was comfortable, a/c was fine, and I asked for a first floor room. Tv great, room about the size of a Motel six and had no windows--not a problem. It's location was pure gold--downtown Old Town, a across from the Plaza de Armas, a block from local restaurants, the Cathedral, a food market, or Wendys/ Subway, three block from Burger King (don't recommend it as it was quite dirty when we visited on a Sunday). Staff was courteous and helpful at check-in, finding local sites and answering transportation questions. Everyone spoke English, the tv was Digital Direct TV---good selection. Would go back again.
The bathroom fan was noisy due to bad fan blade assembly, needs replacing. I wasn't aware my room had no window, but not a big deal for a short stay---price and location made up for it.

Location was excellent, the staff were so friendly we stayed here the night before our cruise and the staff helped us a lot and gave great advice.
There was no window in our room however we were only staying one night so it was not really an issue.

The location is the best part of this hotel. If you'd like to explore Old San Juan, this is the right choice. Every attraction is in walkable from the hotel. Walgreen is just across the street so it is easy to get snacks. The staff I met was friendly and could help me with trip planning.

Convenient location near attractions, coffee shop on site, noon checkout, friendly staff, and well-maintained structure. Gorgeous rooms with balconies offer great views of the plaza. High ceilings and air conditioning compensate for windowless rooms. a charming and enjoyable stay in Old San Juan.

Serves its purpose if u jus need a place to sleep and shower! Room was a little small but clean and modern,it had no window but I really didn't mind, nice lobby. The hotel was close to the Sheraton casino and a slew of restaurants in walking distance! Also the pier that takes you to the Casa de Bacardi was in walking distance however it is not close to the beach or any clubs (but a cab ride is only $15 to Isla Verda)only little pubs are around so it was a little out of the way! I think Isla verda is a better hot spot location but Hotel de la armas is located in a very historic and beautiful area, with cobble stone side walks it reminds me of Italy, very awesome scenery! There is a street couple blocks over that has a line of restaurants, pubs and people offering to take your picture with you covered in parrots for $10!! I loved the area!! The hotel staff was great particularly Lyan, she was very sweet and answered all our questions professionally and patiently, not to mention that everywhere she suggested was on point! The guy at the front desk I believe his name was Luis was not as friendly, he started off sweet but lost his charm but the end of the first night and he suddenly seemed cold and a little rude! But Lyan made up for what he lacked in the hospitality department!! There was another female but I didn't catch her name, she was a doll too! All in all I would give this hotel a 7 out of 10!
The front desk guy and that its not exactly in the heart of the nightlife!
